Last year was the very first year that the Marketing Analytics Leadership Award was introduced. Created to recognize the work that’s completed in analytics, the award crowns one business (and two runners up) for pioneering the database.
In a Forbes article, ANA President and CEO Bob Liodice says, “As more and more major brands embrace advanced analytics, we will continue to recognize and celebrate those who truly understand where and how their investments are creating financial value for the business.”
The winner of the competition is awarded $50,000 while the runners up are each awarded $25,000. A new take on the award this year is $100,000 that will go to charities designated by the winners.
In 2013, the Association of National Advertisers (ANA) and MarketShare named USAA the winner. The organization’s Applied Analytics team went from selling 9% of its marketing investment products in 2008 to 29% in 2012. This year, ANA and MarketShare have partnered with several other businesses: the Advertising Research Foundation (ARF) and the Marketing Science Institute (MSI) to present the award.
The competition is open to “client-side marketers from organizations of any size that rely on marketing analytics to drive better business decisions.” Winners will be judged by a panel of major brand CMOs, industry leaders, and attendees of the ANA Masters of Marketing Annual Conference.
